At the Troy Chapter of Delta Chi, we are building a brotherhood centered on friendship, leadership, academic achievement, service, and personal growth. Why Delta Chi?

The Troy Chapter offers students the opportunity to become part of a historic fraternity while helping shape its future at Troy University.

Originally chartered in 1966, the Troy Chapter has initiated more than 1,000 brothers. Following Delta Chi’s return to Troy University in 2026, a new generation of members began building a chapter grounded in accountability, scholarship, leadership, and authentic brotherhood.

Joining during this new era means more than becoming a member. It means helping establish the traditions, culture, and standards that future generations of Troy Delta Chi brothers will inherit..

Lifelong Brotherhood

The friendships formed through Delta Chi extend far beyond college. Members share experiences, support one another through challenges, and build relationships that continue long after graduation.

Service and Campus Involvement

Delta Chi encourages members to become active participants in the Troy University community. Brothers serve through philanthropic projects, community service, student organizations, and campus leadership roles.

Leadership Experience

Members have opportunities to serve as chapter officers, lead committees, organize events, manage budgets, and represent Delta Chi across campus. These experiences build skills that are valuable in the classroom, the workplace, and the community.

What DO We Look for in a Member?

Delta Chi seeks men who are willing to grow, lead, and contribute.

There is no single personality type that defines a Delta Chi. Our members come from different hometowns, majors, interests, and backgrounds. What connects them is a shared commitment to becoming better students, leaders, friends, and members of their communities.

Prospective members should demonstrate:

  • Interest in campus and community involvement

  • A willingness to uphold Delta Chi’s values and standards

We are not searching for men who are already perfect. We are looking for men who are willing to challenge themselves and help build something meaningful.

What’s The Recruitment Process?

Recruitment is an opportunity for prospective members and chapter members to get to know one another.

Step 1: Express Your Interest

Complete the official Delta Chi referral form or speak with a member of the Troy Chapter. A prospective member may submit the form himself, or a parent, alumnus, friend, or supporter may refer him.

Step 3: Learn About Delta Chi

Prospective members will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the chapter’s values, expectations, financial obligations, time commitments, academic standards, and member experience.

Step 5: Associate Member Education

After accepting an invitation, the student begins Delta Chi’s associate member education process. This period introduces new members to the Fraternity’s history, values, operations, expectations, and opportunities for leadership.

Associate member education is intended to be positive, educational, and respectful. Hazing is prohibited and has no place in Delta Chi.

Recruitment FAQs

  • Membership is open to eligible male students enrolled at Troy University who meet the requirements of Delta Chi International, Troy University, and the Troy Chapter.

  • No. Incoming freshmen, transfer students, and current Troy University students may be considered for membership.

  • No. Many members first meet the chapter through a recruitment event, referral, campus activity, or conversation with a current brother.

  • Membership includes financial obligations associated with local chapter operations, international fraternity fees, insurance, programming, and chapter activities. Prospective members will receive a clear explanation of all financial expectations before accepting an invitation to join.

  • Members participate in chapter meetings, service activities, recruitment, brotherhood events, educational programs, and other chapter responsibilities. The chapter encourages members to balance fraternity involvement with academics, employment, athletics, and other campus commitments.

  • No. Delta Chi prohibits hazing in all forms. The Troy Chapter is committed to a safe, respectful, and positive membership experience.

  • Yes. Parents and families are encouraged to learn about Delta Chi, review the Parents page, contact the chapter, and submit a referral on behalf of a prospective member.

  • A member of the Recruitment Team will contact the prospective member to introduce the chapter, answer questions, and provide information about upcoming recruitment opportunities.

Academic Support

Education is one of Delta Chi’s founding principles. The Troy Chapter promotes academic accountability, effective study habits, peer support, and the use of Troy University’s academic resources.

Step 2: Meet the Chapter

A member of our Recruitment Team will contact you with information about upcoming events and opportunities to meet the brothers.

Recruitment events may include:

  • Interest meetings

  • Brotherhood activities

  • Campus events

  • Community service projects

  • Meals and informal gatherings

  • Conversations with alumni and advisors

Step 4: Membership Invitation

Selected prospective members may receive an invitation to join Delta Chi. Receiving an invitation reflects the chapter’s belief that the individual has the character, potential, and commitment to contribute positively to the brotherhood.

Prospective members will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the chapter’s values, expectations, financial obligations, time commitments, academic standards, and member experience.
